Visiting Mutton and Mead-A Renaissance and Medieval Festival in Montague, MA
Approximately a week before this event, we were invited to her, our relatives. Relatives visit such festivals constantly, and my wife was a few times. So we decided to go.
There was an action in our state of Massachusetts, to go from where we live about 1: 40-2 hours.
He passed for two days on June 24-25, we went on the last day.
There were a lot of hopes, something like, something was not pleasant.
So we left there about 10 A. M. with our relatives. The road was pretty monotonous, highways are quickly tired. But it's interesting to watch people who drive cars. Often you can see old people, driving a steep automobile.
Two hours later we were on the spot. The venue of the festival is equipped with a huge toll-free parking lot, which was occupied by 70-80%. Parking costs $ 5. To the town where the whole action takes place, it is necessary to go through the forest, on the prepared path. On the way, you can get a bracelet on hand, which testifies that you are 21 years old. I remind you that in the United States alcohol is only sold after a person's age of 21, and this is very serious.
Closer to the entrance you buy tickets, $ 15, put a stamp on your hand. If you are with children, or you are difficult to go, you will be picked up by a golf car.
The festival was impressive, with its scale, and the number of tents with food and various cargos for sale. Everywhere was music, various events, and many many dressed up people, which actually struck me. Starting from children, ending with people of old age, most were dressed in different fairy tale heroes.
First of all, we decided to eat, and went to choose what we want, Dariella took a potato, and some kind of meat, and I decided to try the big turkey pot cooked on the grill. I also took a huge jar of lemonade, which I really liked.
When we went out we went around all the events and tents. They saw a lot of things, mostly in festivals in tents, selling: food (varied), author's hand-made on various topics, a lot of clothes (fabulous, etc.), and butterfly (swords, skates, charming sticks, etc. .) Events that we have seen: the show of knight fights on horseback with peaks (this is probably the most impressive performance), the display of combat orders of the Middle Ages, the battles of knights on the earth and much more. There were many stories for the children, which were told by the dressed actors. For children also was denied a forest (fairy forest), where the actors created a fairy tale for children.
I also think it is worth to say that there were enough clean toilets in the area, where sometimes there was not enough toilet paper, hand washers, and there is an ATM (although some tents could be paid by credit card). Also, there were plenty of places to relax on the territory of the festival, both under the cover and under the clear sky.
In general, as for me, a very good idea, not expensive, lots of impressions, especially if you come with children, there is something to do throughout the day, the variety of food. In general, I and my wife liked it, although I was in the first on such an action, but Dariella is not. The only downside is that the venue of the festival is far from us. The road back took 2-3 hours. Got exhausted but happy)
